Hi Everyone, how was your weekend? Mine was so good, and I hope yours was too! There was a beautiful engagement party given for my daughter and her fiancé on Saturday night. We had great friends come in from Nashville to stay with us and attend the party. The night was so perfect, at a beautiful home with such great friends, and family. It was so much fun to meet our future son in law’s family’s friends. The wedding is approaching quickly, and I still have much to do, but the party got me so excited for them!
I wanted to introduce you to a brand called Lei-Lei. It is a brand that was started by a mother/daughter team in hopes that the daughter would have something she could create and be proud of. The company was based on the belief that helping others in need will make the world a better place. They work with female artisans to help empower them to care for their families while working on their financial independence and becoming self-sufficient.
They started with beautiful handmade beaded bracelets in a Christian community in Kathmandu, Nepal. A small website and word of mouth gained some loyal repeat customers. Two years later, they have a global e-commerce marketplace offering more handmade products, including Moroccan clutches, and market baskets, newborn sheep’s wool animal booties from Krygystan, Alpaca shawls, hats and fingerless mittens, horn jewelry, and many others. All items have to fit the criteria of being handmade, fairly traded, renewable and sustainable while allowing the customers to shop for great items that support worthy causes.
I love this brand because they are helping so many people in need and helping women to learn to take care of themselves and their families, and…the products are so so fashionable and cool. I am obsessed with this silver and gray sequin embroidered clutch, the eco resin stick necklace, the long tassel earrings (on sale $10), this beautiful alpaca fringe poncho, and this adorable peacock eyeglass holder. I hope you all will check out their website and support these women!
I am wearing this fun key charm necklace made with a brass skeleton key and carved bone and horn charms, made by artisans in Kenya. This is a piece that I can wear every day. I am also wearing this military full sleeve jacket from Banana Republic that is on sale ($83)! I have told you that I am obsessed with sleeves right now, and this jacket had my name written all over it.
I have another busy day today. I am leaving for California tomorrow and have a gazillion things to do to get ready. I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!
Thank you so much for reading! xx
